Gennady Matishov

Scientific Director of the Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor. His research interests include global climatic changes, natural disasters, and technologies for artificial cultivation of sturgeon fish. Under the leadership of Gennady Matishov, a unique technology for the artificial cultivation of sturgeon fish in a closed water supply was developed, which makes it possible to accelerate the receipt of marketable fish products in comparison with natural conditions.

In order to popularize the profession of a rural machine operator, in the spring of 2003 Sergey Sukhovenko implemented the idea of holding «Bizon-Track-Show» tractor races among tractor drivers of agricultural enterprises, which are held annually in May and remain the only ones in Russia.
